The pane on my 1 year old stove just cracked during the first stoking this year. And I emphasize: stoking. Not an excessive amount of wood.

I. Just. Can’t. Believe. It.

Do you know the situation when you have a fly in your room and it doesn’t want to fly anywhere else? No. It stays with you. Then it sits down sometimes on your sleeve, or sometimes right next to your ear. I have rarely seen such cuddly animals. 🪰

I registered for Scrintal. A Notes/Zettelkasten/Mind Map combination looking very promising.

If you want to give it a try, here’s my referral link. (yeah, I need the money) 🤑

First 2.000 users will lock in a very special early access price.

Oooookay. Now both my parents have Corona.

Not that that’s anything special. But that too? Seriously?

A house is a liability. A house with problems even more so. It’s a pity that this also leads to regular arguments with my wife. I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up.

Now I know why I sent back my Remarkable 2…

Kindle Scribe incoming!!!

I like what happened here. 🤩

The mail notification from UPS is worth its weight in gold.

The package was delivered at 12 noon today. I received the status message that it had arrived in Germany at all at 2pm.

Listening to the Tron: Legacy Soundtrack 🎵 makes me want to watch the movie 🍿 again.

Fun fact: I think it’s one of my most watched movies of all time.

And: Still sad about Daft Punk… :(

About tools, needs, subscriptions and saving money

What I want: reflect.app
Exactly the note app that suits me best. A blessing to work with.
By far the best offshoot of the Zettelkasten method. Better than Roam or Obsidian.

What I will use: craft.do
Also has daily notes (my main use), but doesn’t match me 100%.
I have to click several times until I get to where I want to end up. But okay, I’ll put up with that.

Why do I do this? Money.
craft is first free and then it costs about 50$ a year while reflect costs 150$ a year.

All the subscriptions are eating me up at the moment. And even if I have found the perfect tools for me, I can no longer afford everything by far.

I still don’t want to do without comfort and good tools, so I’m still happy to use paid tools, even if they don’t correspond 100% to my workflow.

Let’s take Todoist (Pro). I will replace that with Microsoft To Do. Yes, because of the cost.

In this sense… I am strongly sorting out. And every time I want to click on subscribe somewhere, I slap my fingers and think five more times whether I really need it.

Right now I meet a lot of colleagues from all over the world. It’s fantastic. It’s fun to talk to them in person. It’s totally different to virtual meetings. It’s about 1.000.000 times better than virtual meetings!!!

Sharing the weather and a quote with you. 😀

Top Gun: Maverick is better than Top Gun. That’s it. Thanks for reading. 🍿

I can’t get rid of him either. The excavator driver who yelled at me a few months ago now works for the direct neighbors. And he regularly looks up at me in my study. What does he want? Kill me with glances?

I think the kids have slowly infected me. The throat is already scratchy, the nose also makes itself independent. Oh, how I look forward to this fall / winter / spring time.

My children are so sick. Cough, fever, sniffles…. And my smallest can’t sleep because of cough and cries all the time now.

Schau schau, ein Stau. 📷

Last slept through:

  • Lord of the Rings series: Mostly.
  • Andor Episode 1-3: Completely.
  • Tenet: About the 2nd half.

I love my children. But when they cough 200 times a day with a cold directly into my face,… 🤬

I have a Kindle.
I miss ‚real’ books. 📚. Really enjoyed it at the library today.

Hey, what do you think about me with glasses? 🤔

Night Rider. One of my favourite playlists on Spotify. Ever. Forever. 🎵
