Your movie recommendation for tonight?

I couldn’t decide whether to shout hurrah or bullshit from start to finish. But lo and behold, at least I watched the movie from start to finish.

Keywords: cool moments, over-the-top snot, annoying brat, strong Sly, sexy mom.

Top Gun: Maverick was a similar surprise for me as Mad Max: Fury Road. I went into the film without particularly high expectations, but with good general ratings in mind and couldn’t stop grinning.

Such brilliant shots, that familiar and driving music, that connection to the first film and yet that uniqueness. This tension, this incredible action. Much like Terminator 2, Top Gun: Maverick is for me a sequel that outdoes the first film in more ways than one.

And as a bonus: Even my wife, who is very picky about movies, was heavily into the film.

This remake of Watch Out, We’re Mad, now available on Netflix is an imposition. No charm, no fun. It doesn’t honor the good old Bud Spencer and Terence Hill movies, but drags them through the mud. 🍿

I watched Top Gun Maverick (awesome!!!) and the first episode of She-Hulk (okay). But the best thing is, I didn’t sleep through both… 😂

I just started watching Fast & Furious 9 for a few minutes and I already love it. Do you wanna know why? Years ago I thought the series became worse with every new movie. But actually it’s pure fun. And,… bonus: It’s - and most screw this - about family. That’s nice. 🍿

The last 2 episodes of Obi Wan have made the series better. Very exciting, great scenery and a really great twist. Like. So not everything is perfect, but it’s going in the right direction. 📺

I watched the 3rd episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi yesterday.

Once again I noticed how slow the series is. Really slowed down for a change. For example when little Leia runs. It’s as if the floor was made of chewing gum.

Or the fights between Vader and Obi-Wan? I have to admit, I’m not a fan of fast cuts, but I am of faster fights. Watching this is kind of exhausting and doesn’t seem to fit in with today’s times.

And I stand by my opinion: The Mandalorian is still the best Star Wars series of recent times.

Still one of the best series ever.

Lessons learned last night:

• The Obi Wan series isn’t even that good.
• The Mandalorian is still the best Disney Star Wars series.
• Eating pizza alongside a series is great.

So.

I have just restarted my Disney Plus monthly subscription.

Today I started season 3 of DARK on Netflix. I watched seasons 1 and 2 well over a year ago.

As expected, I understood zero. 📺
